Review
Context Magic is a free and light application you can add to your PC to expand the functions that normally appear in the contextual menus of different versions of Windows.
We really can not say that this is a very novel nor very powerful tool, because most of the functions included in the extension of the contextual menu are already included, in one way or another, in the context menus that Windows provides. For example, functions such as moving or sending files or folders to other destinations on the PC, send files to recipients of mail, create shortcuts to folders, send files to the Trash or select a program to open a file, are all functions already available in Windows.
However, it should be pointed out that in some cases these features are enhanced, and also includes some additional features that can be really useful. Among the enhanced functions, we can mention: In addition to moving files and folders, you can also copy them directly to a destination with just one mouse click, you can even create shortcuts with one click directly on certain destinations (desktop, favorites, start menu).
It also includes some innovative features, such as:
- Copy name to clipboard: it copies to the clipboard the directory path of the document or folder selected.
- Command Prompt Here: it opens the command window to perform functions that require it.
- Find Target Object: option available for the shortcuts, which opens the directory where the file or the original program are located.
Finally, we can say that runs on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003 or Windows 95/NT with Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) and Windows Desktop Update installed. Although it must be explained that this extension of the contextual menu is only available using Windows Explorer, which is a disadvantage. |
